Open day at Felixstowe Sewing School Saturday, 23rd March
Only 4 days to go until the first EVER Felixstowe Sewing School open day. So far I have made 2 chocolate cakes, 4 chocolate banana cakes, 3 lemon drizzle cakes, loads of ginger nut and sugar biscuit dough and only half way through my cake list. I can’t wait to meet all the lovely people I hear are coming along to talk to me about my classes, workshops and parties – all lovely sewing things. I just put the finishing touches to 3 vintage style aprons for my waitresses to wear (i.e., my teenager daughter and two of her mates!). Hopefully people will think the aprons are cool as they are the base for my vintage apron workshops. What else, oh yes, nearly finished embroidering the pockets of my 1940’s tea dress – better get that finished – I thought a tea dress would be a good idea for a vintage dress course – perfect for swirling around in. Ta ta for now and fingers crossed for a good turnout – the doors open at 2 pm and cake will be flying off the plates at 2.05 precisely!

Wow, just been along to your open day and must congratulate you on such a brilliant event. You are sew… talented. My friend and I were so inspired by your work and such a lovely atmosphere – thank you again for running it. I met some lovely like minded ladies; always great to be on the same wave length. I’m glad I wasn’t put off by the weather. The cakes were delicious…. the waitresses a delight. Now looking at which course to attend.
Kind regards

HI Gaynor,

Hello Amanda and crew, Jut arrived home after spending a very worthwhile 3 hours at your wonderful home / workshop…. and I would like to congratulate you and your family for achieving your first year in the sewing arena.
The dresses we were making were a real credit to you, and al the fantastic members of your team. I am sure they will bring great joy to those who receive them.
The saying should be now, ‘ where there is a will …there is wholesome charity.’
Look forward to seeing more of you in the coming year.
Fond regards
Maggie
